Why I love being a rural dance studio.

Teaching ballroom dancing in rural Ohio comes with its challenges, but it's a unique and charming experience. With perhaps more cows than people, the area offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. Convincing "City Folk" to take a scenic drive to our quaint little town might take some persuasion, but once they arrive, they inevitably fall in love with the charm and warmth of our community.

Here are my top 5 reasons why I love being a rural studio.

  1. Close-Knit Community: In a rural setting, you often have the opportunity to build strong, personal connections with your students and their families. This sense of community creates a supportive and encouraging environment in and out of the studio for everyone involved. I love walking downtown or going to the store and saying hello to all the current and past students. Once a dancer, always a dancer.

  2. Scenic Surroundings: The natural beauty of a rural area provides a serene and inspiring backdrop for your dance studio. The peaceful surroundings can enhance creativity and focus, making each dance session more enjoyable. I love being able to see rainbows, beautiful sunsets.. deer and bunnies.

  3. Personalized Attention: With smaller class sizes, I can offer more personalized instruction and attention to each student, helping them progress and achieve their dance goals more effectively. It also allows me to build stronger relationships with dancers as we open communication and increase group class engagement.

  4. Community Impact: This is my why. Opening my dance studio was driven by a deep desire to create a positive impact in our community. I envisioned a space where people could come together, connect, and express themselves through the art of dance. Our studio is more than just a place to learn ballroom dancing; it's a hub for building relationships, fostering creativity, and nurturing personal growth.

By offering a welcoming and inclusive environment, we aim to bring joy and inspiration to everyone who walks through our doors. We believe in the transformative power of dance to uplift spirits, boost confidence, and strengthen community bonds. Through our classes and events, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and contribute to the vibrancy of our local area.

  5. Lower Operating Costs: Operating a dance studio in a rural area often comes with lower rental and utility costs compared to urban locations, allowing for more financial flexibility and the ability to invest into the community by sponsoring fundraisers and sport teams. This also allows the studio to offer affordable pricing for working class families. After all, I believe that dance should be and always remain attainable to anyone who wants to learn.

If you are ever in the Carroll County area, be sure to stop by and take a class!
